MENA BioImaging is a regional network of imaging scientists, facilities and organisations operating in the middle-east & North Africa that was initiated in 2023. We aim to create a platform for imaging facilities to work together, leverage local expertise, exchange experience and build capacity through cooperation and training.
Scientific challenges are better solved cooperatively rather than individually. Because these same challenges do not recognize geographical boundaries, we propose to work together throughout the Arabian region to bring together individuals and individual institutions to participate collectively in the arena of BioImaging, to share their expertise and resources to overcome the technical and scientific challenges facing academic researchers in the region.

BioImaging refers to methods and instruments used to acquire, process and visualize structural or functional images of living objects or systems at desired spatial and temporal scales. Bioimaging can also refer to techniques to used visualize fixed biological samples. Image processing, data mining and big data analytics are important parts of bioimaging.
